Behind Your Touch (Season 1), Episode 5 Recap:

The episode continues from where it was left off. We see Sia being dragged by someone with a knife in his hand. We see him trying to stab her with the knife. We cut to Ye-bun, wondering if her grandfather had stolen the documents. As soon as he leaves the house, she checks his room and finds the donor documents hidden inside a pillow cover. She takes it and rushes out as she hears her grandfather return to the house.

Jang Yeol walks into Ye-bun’s clinic and she hides the documents quickly. He asks her if she has not seen anything after touching the woman and he refuses. Jang Yeol informs her that he will catch the culprit no matter what. Ye-bun, at night, takes the donor document to the tourism center and puts the document through the door. She is startled to see Dr. Jung in front of her. He asks her for the document, and she asks him not to do this. She removes her frustration by asking him why he had taken her in and would never listen. He quietly leaves. The next day, Jang Yeol was informed that the document was found, but he told Jung Muk that it was important to find it. But Jung Muk tops him and promises to give him a better case.

Mr. Park goes to the mountain to give an offering to General MacArthur and finds a wounded puppy. He takes it to Ye-bun’s clinic along with Sun-woo and explains what had happened to her. She touches the puppy’s butt to realize that it was ill-treated by its owner and is saddened. Oh Hui’s father, Mr. Bae, had reported to the police that his fish finder had been stolen. Jang Yeol and Jung Muk go to the boat to discover what happened. Ok Hui watches Jang Yeol and plays the accordion, and Ye-bun’s aunt realizes Ok Hui is in love with someone as she likes to play the accordion when she loves someone. Hyun-ok goes back to a flashback when she was dating Jung Muk, and she had ice cream all over her face, and he had taken care of it lovingly. She attempts to do the same in the present, but he handcuffs her.

Mr. Bae’s wife suspects Ali, who works and lives on the boat. Jang Yeol reaches out to Ye-bun to help him out. Ye-bun tells him she will help, but he needs to help her find the one who had hurt the dog first. They visit Mr. Park for more details, and Ye-bun gets on Jang Yeol’s nerves for asking stupid questions. Sun-woo joins in and decides to help them and Ye-bun is excited.

Sun-woo and Ye-bun go to the place where the dog was buried alive and Sun-woo takes pictures to put on social media. Ye-bun visits Jang Yeol at the police station and updates him that she can see memories in color now, and before, she could only see them in black and white. Ye-bun takes Jang Yeol to a manicure place and makes him pay, as that is the only way for her to see memories of people and animals. She touches the dog’s buttocks and can now see more details, but her hands need to be taken care of before she can see further. She then makes him buy her a ring. She then tells him she can see the memories in timelines and chronological order but she needs more.

She takes Jang Yeol to a drugstore and asks him to buy her some vitamins. She takes them all and sees the dog’s memories. They take the dog to the same street where its owner lived. The dog leads them to the owner. Jang Yeol and Ye-bun give him a piece of their mind and the owner tells them that he had bought a puppy because of the dog’s videos, and when the owner is not ready to take Tofu (the dog’s name), Ye-bun decides to take Tofu with her. Jang Yeol arrests him for violating the Animals Act.

Jang Yeol takes Ye-bun to Ali so she can see his memories. He deliberately puts gum on his buttocks and Ye-bun touches his buttocks and sees his memories. She tells Jang Yeol that Ali was not on the boat the day it was stolen, but he constantly met the same man every other day. She also informed him that they spoke in Arabic, and she could not understand. Jang Yeol asks her to learn Arabic and reminds her of all his hard work to help Tofu. She tries hard to learn but does not make much progress.

Jang Yeol tries to take away Ye-bun’s ring, but Ok Hui is watching them being close and is angered. Ye-bun escapes from Jang Yeol but Ok Hui shows her karate skills and expresses her concerns to Ye-bun. Ye-bun assures her that nothing is happening between them and that she is helping him solve a case. Ye-bun convinces Sun-woo to teach her Arabic as she learns he knows how to converse in Arabic when he speaks to Ali. Sun-woo is annoyed with Mr. Park and Ye-bun as they are terrible students. Ye-bun progresses and takes Sun-woo’s help to translate what she has written.

With that, she learns that Ali’s mother is ill and needs money for surgery. Jang Yeol and Ye-bun question Ali and he reveals who else had stolen it for him. They reach the place, and Jang Yeol is overconfident that he can take on three guys. But as they enter, more guys come out. Jang Yeol asks her to escape, but she runs out to find more men and they drag her inside the building.

Behind Your Touch (Season 1), Episode 5 Ending, Explained:

What Was Ali’s Motive for Stealing the Fish Finder?

The thugs tie Jang Yeol and Ye-bun and talk amongst themselves. Jang Yeol tries to show off his police training and tells her that he can untie himself. Meanwhile, Ye-bun was listening to what they were saying in Arabic and was surprised that she could understand. She informs him that they intended to throw them into the water. While Jang Yeol struggles to untie himself in weird positions, the thugs take them on a boat. They throw them down the ocean.

Underwater Ye-bun asks Jang Yeol what they are going to do and he asks her to trust him. Ali comes back to save them both. They take Ali’s help and return to the same building where the thugs had tied them. He asks them to stay outside, picks up a pipe, and starts beating the thugs. The next day, Jang Yeol is ready to arrest Ali, but Bae’s family makes excuses to protect Ali after they know why he is taking such measures. But Jang Yeol did not heed their words and arrested him. We see fishermen fishing and one of them finds a woman’s earring, and the other responds by saying maybe they would find a dead body. In the last scene, we see Sia’s body lying nearby. The other earring is on her ears.

The episode diverted the viewers’ attention from a major question: Who is Sia, and why is she being attacked repeatedly? It might be because the makers want the viewers to familiarise themselves with Ye-bun’s abilities before they reveal the big case. Solving the mystery behind what is happening with Sia might be the ticket for Jang Yeol to return to Seoul. Even in this episode, we see Sun-woo as the perfect human, but he might be something else altogether. We have to wait a little longer to find out more about Sia.
