‘Talk to Me’ Trailer: A24’s new supernatural horror injects possession into your bloodstream

Talk to Me Trailer

A24’s new horror movie is going to be one of those films that people get scared of from the very first sequence. The supernatural possession thriller is directed by Australian twin brothers Danny and Michael Philippou And was the talk of the town when it first premiered at the sundance film festival 2023. Talk to Me, which was acquired out of Sundance by A24, now has a new trailer, and it’s going to be one of those scary movies that you can’t forget so easily.

The release strategy for Talk to Me will be really interesting because it is going to be released with the big Disney release, ‘Haunted Mansion.’ This is the directorial debut of the Australian brothers, famously known for their ‘RakaRaka’ YouTube channel. It follows a group of friends who discover the exhilarating power to summon spirits using an embalmed hand. However, their excitement turns to fear as they become addicted to the rush and begin to push the boundaries of the supernatural realm.

Sophie Wilde’s character, Mia, is desperate to escape the overwhelming grief of her mother’s impending death and seeks solace in the eerie world of the dead. But when the group’s reckless behavior leads to dire consequences and an irreversible collapse of the boundary between the living and the dead, Mia finds herself at the center of a horrifying nightmare.

As disturbing visions and supernatural forces begin to haunt Mia and her friends, they realize the grave mistake they have made. With time running out and the line between worlds fading fast, Mia races against the clock to undo the damage and repair the tear before it’s too late.

The film, which promises to be a thrilling addition to the horror genre, was produced by the talented Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton of Causeway Films – the same duo behind the critically acclaimed hit movie, “The Babadook.” Additionally, Talk to Me also features some of the most talented and versatile actors in the industry. Miranda Otto, Alexandra Jensen, Joe Bird, Otis Dhanji, Zoe Terakes, and Chris Alosio round out the ensemble, each bringing their own unique style and energy to the film.

We are all aware that A24, the two-time Best Picture Oscar-winning indie studio, has been on a roll in the last couple of years. On April 7th, they premiered Kelly Reichardt’s latest film, “Showing Up,” which features a star-studded cast including Michelle Williams and Hong Chau. The film has already received critical acclaim, with audiences eagerly anticipating its wider release.

Next up on A24’s roster is the highly anticipated horror comedy, “Beau Is Afraid,” directed by the mastermind behind “Hereditary” and “Midsommar,” Ari Aster. The film will premiere in Los Angeles and New York on April 14th before expanding nationwide on the 21st. With Aster’s reputation for delivering spine-chilling thrills and his signature brand of dark humor, the film is one of the most talked about titles thus far.

Other than that, A24’s release schedule includes Nicole Holofcener’s dramedy, “You Hurt My Feelings,” starring the hilarious Julia Louis-Dreyfus, which will hit theaters on May 26. And on June 2, audiences can look forward to the highly acclaimed romantic drama “Past Lives,” directed by Celine Song.

Talk To Me premieres in movie theatres on July 28th, 2023
